Selena Gomez, The Lopez Show and Dynavox

I just watched a video of Selene Gomez using a DynaVox on the George Lopez show.

How COOL is that??

Apparently, Selena lost her voice but decided to appear on the show anyways. She had some responses to questions programmed in ahead of time, but did do some on the fly talking. At one point, she tried to get the device to laugh by typing in hahaha. It didn't work the way she planned (can you say common occurence with AAC devices??).

This happened in July, but I just now heard about it on another blog (I'll link back to his blog when I'm not typing a post on my B.lackberry).

We were actually talking about the stigma kids feel in regards to using assistive technoloy in my masters class tonight (Accessing General Education Curriculum with Technology Accommodations). What a great way for kids/teens to see that there is nothing wrong with their way of talking.

Well, way to go Selena Gomez, George Lopez and the folks at DynaVox! I thought that video was great. Oh and the device is being donated to a childen's hospital.

Here's the video I watched:
